That's some fine proofreadin' over at FoxNews.com...

Peter "Chewbacca" Mayhew will become an Amur'can next week at a citizenship ceremony in Arlington, Texas. Always happy to welcome a walking carpet to the hairy, fuzzy melting pot of these United States.

FoxNews.com features a story about Mayhew's impending citizenship. Let me quote from the third paragraph of the article: "Mayhew, 60, played the fur-covered warrior Chewgrant..."

Chewgrant?

Chewgrant, Lou Grant.

Was Chewgrant the editor of the Kashyyyk Daily News? The world may never know. But I'm pretty sure that Ham Solo, Princess Layla, and Fluke Skywalker will all be in attendance at next week's festivities.

Suddenly, I feel less bad about all my blog typos. I assume someone at Fox will notice the error.

Eventually.

By the way, is it me, or does Peter Mayhew look more and more like Howard Stern's older, weirder uncle???

You make the call, kids. You make the call...

Actually, I believe Chewgrant enjoyed a career in a series of humorous British films, including Four Jedis and A Funeral. Of course, there was that little scandal a few years back when he was arrested for soliciting a Jawa. I believe the case was dismissed once it was shown the Jawa couldn't reach higher than his knee-caps.

Oh God, too much coffee...

I was on the Hugh Grant track as well, but MM said it so much better than I would of.

I *love* the fact that Hugh Grant's middle name is Mungo. (Named for some uncle, apparently.) Hugh Mungo. Heh heh.

As in, "Hey, Sunset Boulevard hooker - I am Hugh Mungo, and that's not just my name!"
