Today's Radio Commentary...

...has been added to the archive on the righthand side of the blog. For your immediate listening pleasure, you may click here. So far, the feedback has been good (mucho thanks to Radiocynic and Dariush and Caseystay and JJ for the very good words!)

It's a stunningly beautiful night here. "Good sleeping weather" is how my mom would have described it. I intend to sleep well. It's been a long day - bad eye headaches (now with extra nausea!!!), lots of reports to write at work, recalcitrant computer equipment... oof!

But this day did have a really neat high point - I went to the State Department for the swearing-in ceremony of my friend Madame Ambassador, who will soon be off to represent us in yet another farflung, funky corner of this flat earth. It was very cool to attend the event, which was held in the State Department Treaty Room, and see old friends and colleagues I haven't encountered in ages. And, in the receiving line after the ceremony, I gave Madame Ambassador her very own pirate eye patch, so she could be as incredibly fashion forward as yours truly, Ms. Merujo One-Eye. My friend was a good sport, indeed, and put it on - it looked quite fine with her swanky suit.

Congratulations and bon voyage, Madame Ambassador! Maybe this time, I can come visit you in your new digs!

Okay, off to bed with me. Teeth need brushin', brain needs restin'...
