In This Haze of Green and Gold

My brother found his way to the clearing at the end of his path.

I will hold you, your family and his friends in my thoughts today.

Hugs from me too! I've been wondering how he was doing but wasn't sure if you were up to talking about it. You will continue to be in my thoughts.

This is so, so sad, M, and there's nothing I can do but tell you you're in my thoughts.

*hugs*

So sorry. So very, very sorry. Words fail me as I can't find anything more eloquent to say than that.

The loss of those we love is never easy and I think it only gets harder the older we get.

Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and heart today and in the days ahead.

Mellisa, so sorry to hear of your loss. Do the characters shown in your (very elegant and dignified) post honoring your brother have a special meaning to him? Or to you?

Thank you, everyone, for your lovely words and good thoughts. I'm feeling pretty out of it tonight.

Randy - the symbol means "peace." I just happened upon it on Google images today, and I was struck by its simplicity and beauty. Thought it was the right send off. My brother had been so sick for so long, I hope he has found peace. (And all the answers to the questions on "Lost.") :-)

Even though you might have been preparing for it, you never are ready when the news comes. I am sure his memory will be in your heart for the rest of your life. I am so sorry for your loss.

Hey there -

I know that there's not much that can be said to make you feel any better (and I'm sorry I'm just now seeing your posts about this), but please know that you're in my thoughts right now. I've already attended two funerals this year, and am getting prepared for the possibility of another - it's been a bad year for good people.

My belated sympathies for your loss! I hope that you have gotten through the past week or so okay.

Oh hon...

I shouldn't stay away this long ever again.

I'm so sorry about your brother - if I could hug you I would.

PS: He'll be in good hands in Heaven. My dad's up there and he's pretty cool. :-)
