And the award for "I'm seriously high on crack" goes to...

Former first lady Barbara Bush who had this to say to NPR after visiting with homeless Katrina refugees sheltering in the Astrodome:

What I’m hearing is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality.

And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this --this is working very well for them.
Oh no, she didn't.

Oh wait - yes, she did.

What a moronic thing to say. How belittling. Our abandoned sports arena is better than anything you could do for yourselves, damn poor people!

They "were underprivileged anyway" so living in a football arena, sharing toilets with thousands of strangers, eating MREs and sleeping on fold-up cots for weeks on end is just okie dokie with them?!?! Get real, Babs! Someone get the Bush family a collective brain transplant, please.

If you want to hear Bush in her own words, here's the link to the segment from NPR's Marketplace.

Thanks to Sugarjones7 for posting the Bush quote on her blog last night. Drudge has it up as if this statement is something to be proud of. Drudge is an idiot.

Update: Drudge has taken down the link to the Babs Bush story. Not a surprise. You little yellow journalist, Drudge.

Any wonder why GW has such a stink of unacknowledged class privilege about him. It permeates every decision he makes. And look where this has gotten us. Ya done good Mama Bush (NOT).

It's really, really pathetic, isn't it?

What a sad and shameful state of affairs in America.
