Preparing Boxes for Plus Size Katrina Survivors - Large Ladies Out There, You Can Help Out!!

Karen Clark, a lovely woman in Texas, is gathering clothing for shelter-bound plus-size survivors of Katrina. While many U.S. corporations have been very generous in providing for the survivors, for some people, the donations of clothing will not meet their needs, compounding trauma, illness, and despair with humiliation.

Tonight, I'm gathering and sorting a whole bunch of clothing to send down tomorrow.

If you have plus size clothing - and big men's clothing - that you can send, please be in touch with Karen at her e-mail address to learn more about helping out: karenclark@fhtm.us

Thanks!!!!!

I agree - it's a brilliant idea. Over the weekend, I saw images of a couple of women my size, in tattered clothing, praying at the Superdome. I knew that there would be no clothing for them when they reached decent shelter.

What a horrific mess...
