Not a Morning Person

7:45 a.m.

Gravelly Point, on the Potomac, immediately next to National Airport.

You can do your "Wayne's World" bit and watch planes coming in right over your head. Neat, yet terrifiying.

It was cold. (That's less a smile than it is simply clenched teeth.)

8 a.m.

Downtown DC, all cherry blossoms and monuments, right?

Yeah, right. All I saw this morning were jaywalkers and dirty cars.

8:05 a.m.

Me, at work. Still cold.

Still with fake I-am-freezing smile.

I'll take a picture after I've had a cup of coffee. The world will be a better place.

Cute hat! (And yes, you do look frozen.)

Thanks - I love that hat! It's Austrian and about 8 years old now. I dread the day it falls apart. It's the only winter hat I have that really fits my oversized head. :-)

it's a great hat. i understand the pain of trying to find hats for oversized heads. I have so much trouble finding hats that fit.

just be happy you're not looking at two feet of snow and -17C temperatures. i really must rethink this whole living in ottawa thing...

See. Everyone loves that hat. Aren't you glad we tried a little harder to find your hat when you lost it in the theater?

Yep, Sasquatchito, I sure am. I sure am. :-)
