Midnight Musical Confession...

I love "Oops!...I Did It Again" by Britney Spears.

I'm sorry. It's fun. It's got an awesome pop hook, the Skankette's processed vocals really work, and it reminds me of something ABBA would have done.

So sue me. It's only one Britney song. If I have to give up my musical hipster charter membership card for this, I will hand it over.

The radiant Mrs. Federline, aka La Skankstressa.

We all have dark musical secrets.

You know it's true.

Fess up.

OK. "A Little More Love" by Olivia Newton-John. When I was a kid, the lyrics always made me feel sorry for her. Interesting chord progressions, too.

There's nothing wrong with a little Britney love. I dig Toxic, too.

Heck, I own everything ABBA ever did, on vinyl yet! I had no idea who ABBA was until I hit Germany for the first time, as a 6th grader in 1977... and then, I was hooked. It wasn't until later that I realized the amusement factor of hearing my brother's (gay) partner singing along with "Gimme Gimme Gimme (a man after midnight)" in the car.

I wasn't a very sophisticated 6th grader... ;-)
